Public Schools Founded
The well-known Duisburger company Schauinsland-Reisen GmbH donated a total of 30 premium PCs including LCD screens to ZAC e.V. This donation will be the decisive component for the ZAC project “modern training systems” at two schools in the Lutindi village community, where ZAC will establish its children’s village. The Lutindi Primary School and the Mashindei Secondary School will be equipped with these PCs for learning purposes. The schools thus obtain enhancement in the regional environment.
Being active on site for ZAC
Since October, 1st 2017 Peter Ombeni is working for ZAC e.V. in Tanzania.
Peter Ombeni (Member of CBRO board) is regional networker in close contact with local and regional politicians. He is responsible for coordinating and monitoring local tasks and will try his best to raise the acceptance of the project and to integrate the children’s village in the regional village community. He is also in charge of our additional school founding project “Digital Education” from which the primary and secondary schools will benefit. The first 30 PCs including LCD screens have already been donated by a company located in Duisburg.

Copper Coin Collection Frenzy
ZAC has enlarged its fundraising by an important element. The “Copper Coin Collection Frenzy 2017/2018” has been started.
A large number of very enthusiastic people from Duisburg are collecting copper coins for a couple of years. The proceeds will be used in 2018 to finance the roofed village assembly point in “Umbele Village”.
Central collection points for the coins are located in the ZebraShop, which is located in the stadium of MSV Duisburg and in the Duisburger Königsgalerie, where the MSV stadium model is presented to the public.
Cooperation with the university of cooperative education
A couple of weeks ago, ZAC started a long-term cooperation with the Hans-Sachs-Berufskolleg (HSBK) (technical collage) in Oberhausen, Germany. The renowned university of cooperative education teaches engineers in different specialist areas. HSBK will be responsible for the technical planning of the children’s village and develops the technical basics for the energy and water supply. HSBK renders these services free of charge for ZAC e.V. This year, a delegation from KSBK will travel to Lutindi/Usambara mountains for an onsite inspection.
More members, more supporters
Great! Since May 2017, the number of club members has doubled from 18 to 41, at present. The original two supporting members have become five supporting members.
Advancement award received
The jury of the Town & Country foundation has awarded the ZAC e.V. project with a foundation price. The official “symbolic” award ceremony together with the foundation money will be held in September.

ZAC e.V. had an information desk in the stadium at the first traditional market of MSV Duisburg. MSV Duisburg donated parts of the proceeds from the auction to ZAC e.V. New members could be found, who support the ZAC e.V. project. The picture below shows Margit Suhr (financial chairperson).
According to information provided by our Tanzanian employee Si-yeun Hammerbacher, government agencies have granted the general permission to build a children’s village in Lutindi.
